The giant yellow bird flutters its wings again and gives a tiny leap of happiness. Vanille gives Ashley another few seconds, letting out a loud "Kweh!" before she concentrates on this strange new transformation power and changes back to her normal human form. Hands over her mouth, she laughs will happiness!

"It's me!" she calls, running back up to the house with the brightest grin she's had on her face in a long time. "I can turn into a chocobo!"

She doesn't know how long this will last - given the Observers, it likely won't be long - but she's going to make the most of it.
