"Oh, totally. I'm not as good with wood as I am with metal, so I'm happy to draw it up but leave the craftwork with you. I used to practice with padded weapons, too, so if people can stitch some leather and fill it with... I don't know, fur? Cotton if there is any? That would make some good practice materials."

It still hurt to be hit with a wooden practice baton, but it was better if it was padded, and definitely not as much as if there were a full-on proper weapon with sharp metal bits attached to the mace, too.
