Another month, another Stitch & Bitch. Anne wasn't sure she was sold on the name, since here these sessions were more about organizing and survival than 'omg did you hear what Becky did'. But, given the seriousness of their survival situation, there was something comforting about being a little silly, so for now - Stitch & Bitch.
As well, she's got a couple leftover bottles of wine available. These are the ones she's not a married to; sweeter reds and whites, but free to anyone who needs.
She sets things up in her house, moving table and chairs and making room for a sewing machine in case Steph decides to join them again. She's learned a few things since last time about layout.
An announcement goes out on the network; inviting all the old members and including a call to action for anyone who might be curious to learn. As well, there's an invitation for anyone seeking the services of a fiber artist.
Anne herself sets up near the door so she can play host again, working on a pair of mittens.

A Gift For Anne | Closed to Anne
He'd never actually interacted with the woman in question before, and it had taken him a while to get there, not knowing exactly which house she was in. But eventually the young man, holding a package wrapped in matte black paper with shiny black dots.
"Hi," he says when he enters the house. "I'm... looking for Anne Weying?"
no subject
"That's me! Welcome to Stitch & Bitch. Are you looking to learn something, or have something made?"
no subject
His only hope was that the woman actually, you know, wanted something like what he had.
"Neither actually," Nida admitted as he stood there, a bit awkward. Give him a break, he's only given two presents before in his life. Gloves for Seifer, and hair product for Billy. And neither of those things were things he'd put effort into, not really. One was thoughtful, one was just chance.
"Actually, I brought something for you."
After a moment he extended the carefully wrapped parcel to her. Not that the wrapping is all that great. Never had cause to wrap anything before. Not that he remembers at least.
no subject
"Oh wow, thank you!" She takes the package, but before she opens it she looks back at the gifter.
"I'm sorry, I don't even know your name? This is too kind."
no subject
Pretty sure he came by for knitting here. Not that he can say for sure. But Seifer had to learn somewhere.
"Anyway, this box appeared in my room, with instructions and materials. I hope it's something you want."
no subject
It is indeed where Anne and Seifer met; in fact, she was the reason he stayed instead of turning tail immediately. Her little secret, though.
"I had a similar experience, ended up knitting a pair of long socks." She focuses on the package and sets the wrapping paper aside, then holds the box in one hand and pulls it open with the other. Peering in, it's just a moment before she breaks into a wide smile, "Oh Nida; these are wonderful!" She pulls out one of the spindles and looks takes a closer look at it. "Beautiful ... they're perfect, and not a moment too soon."
no subject
"I admit, I don't really know what they are," he says as she admires them, but he is proud of the work. That she is pleased.
Seifer| One for ANNE and OTA
He'd missed the announcement on the network, not having his watch after all, but had heard through the grapevine that another Stitch and Bitch was happening. For which he was glad, could honestly use some help getting his scarf project going more smoothly and maybe a little social time wouldn't kill him. Maybe. Granted it had been a very stressful and full of social month. What was with all the meetups and parties anyway?
Regardless he arrived, supplies tucked in the pockets of his standard-issue pea coat as this time he didn't look about ready to bolt as soon as he entered the door. Instead he meandered over to Anne near the door. "Hey, thanks for puttin' another one of these together."
And for getting him to keep knitting. It wasn't anything Seifer had expected he'd find himself doing, and yet here he was trying to make a scarf.
Open:
After a chat with Anne Seifer went to find himself a chair near a corner where he could keep his back safely to a wall and a light somewhat conveniently close. Needed it to see what he was doing after all. Soon enough he'd settle back into work on his scarf, the knots still unfortunately lumpy and uneven. He was having a hell of a time keeping them consistent which resulted in a lopsided appearance. How did they make it look so easy? Would Seifer ever grasp the basics of knitting? The world may never know. But he kept at it, grumbling quietly under his breath at the barely begun scarf as if scolding it might help the process along.
After a point he'd become frustrated, and with an aggravated huff set aside the project before he grew too angry and unraveled the damned thing once more. Already he'd restarted numerous times, and would likely restart several more before he made it any significant amount of the way through. "Who the hell decided to use sticks for this anyway?" He grumbled to himself, glaring at the needles as though it was somehow their fault for not doing what he wanted them to. Maybe he just wasn't cut out for this after all.

So with his pack over his shoulder, he heads for her house, not knowing the best way to face this without feeling like an idiot, but he does. Stepping inside and glad to see Anne right there.
"So... Help? Please? Help is needed," he says, nodding, not even trying to be casual about it.
no subject
"Did you bring a project for today or are you interested in more observation?" General curiosity - she won't judge either way. This was supposed to be a free and open learning environment, and everyone learned differently.
no subject
"We've got help. What, specifically, do you need help with?"
no subject
"Brought the... clump of knots I keep tryin' to turn into a scarf with me." He offered with a lopsided grin, digging the ball of yarn and barely started line of knitting out of his coat pocket. Maybe he should have turned his backpack into a carrying case for this stuff? Oh well, he'll do that next time.
no subject
"Mostly it's not having a clue how to work these pieces together. I'd thought to stitch the pelts together, but having the devil's own time trying to stitch them together. I thought perhaps to stitch them to blocks from a sheet to try and get them together. If that would work?"
no subject
Anne wants to visualize how he's trying to put them together while she thinks back on the books she's read about working with pelts.
