"It's okay, we just replace it with a lot of human monsters instead. People who are monstrous. We have plenty of those." His tone is dry but he's being completely serious. "The funny part about it is that probably if I did grow up boring and normal, I'd wish I had a more exciting life instead. Grass is always greener on the other side." Desmond only knew that he wanted it one way because living the other way was so rough.

"Opinions are something you can always count on other people to have, whether they're asked for it or not." Desmond rubs the back of his neck, looking around. "Maybe it dropped off your wrist outside or on the way here. Let's keep looking."
