"Yeah, that might be. You'd think they'd replace it quick though, if they want us for sure to have them." So basically Desmond was on the same wavelength in suspicion on this. Nothing happened without reason from what he could tell of this place. He kept wanting to take it off, but on the other hand, it meant being disconnected from the network and communicating with others. Now he can really tell why someone would be frantic to get it back, even if it was a trap.
