"Better than usual," she muttered, draping one leg over his hips. Sam had absolutely no idea what had gotten into her. She wasn't shmoopy by nature. But something about the morning, after a wonderful evening and even more wonderful drifting left her feeling like one of those girls she hated. Okay, in all fairness, she knew of at least one or two things that had gotten into her. She tilted her chin slightly so that she could plant a little line of kisses along the underside of his chin, down one side of his neck.
It was decadent and wonderful.
For about half a second.
Sam felt Danny's pulse against her lips and found herself frowning, kissing momentarily stalled. It wasn't his fault, of course. But a girl's mind could only stay numb for so long. She pulled back, looking up at him with a surprising level of earnest in her baby-blues. "Is that weird? Does that weird you out? I can avoid the neck."
Cliched as it was, arteries running through the throat were, by far, the choicest ones to bite. Not that she was planning on it. But she couldn't forget what she was. And she would have thought poorly of Danny, if he had.
