"Emergencies do happen," he says of the door, of his bothering to open it. Emergencies that require Mark, or all hands on deck, or just everyone gathered in the safety of one place overnight. "Had to be - sure."

Another cough. He rattles the door on its frame by bracing against it.

"More than tea." Maybe more than what they have, and that's the scary thought. That's the thing keeping him behind a closed door, in bed, instead of asking for help.

The moment stretches, but in a wave of weakening vertigo, Kira just closes his eyes to wait it out. He's not taking a step away from the door until he thinks it will land.

"Do you want me to take you to the hospital?" Because Kira was pale, and it seemed like just opening the door had taken all of his energy. Ty wound back to him, pressing the back of his hand to his forehead. It proved an unnecessary gesture, because he looked terrible even without taking his temperature.

"If it's a real emergency, they can just text him, right? Let's go, you're burning up." He wasn't even going to ask why Kira didn't say anything, didn't reach out to him. He never had before, so why would he start now?
