"You look worse than I do." He mumbles. "Seriously. Dead woman walking. I'm at least kind of used to this shit."

"Fuck you," she says with absolutely no malice, just fatigue and that weird affectionate-insult tone some people manage to pull off.

"I ever tell you about the time I was drugged and kidnapped by possibly Jack-the-Ripper and his totally human-not-a-demon groupie helper? That was fucked up. This is just the flu from hell. Assuming we can drag our asses out of this pool, we'll be fine. Or we just call for help until someone else drags us both to the hospital. Bull's got the upper body strength for it, right?"

"No thanks I got a headache." A breathless huff of laughter is about all he can manage, but it's better than nothing. "You know the more you tell me about your life back home the more I see this place as an improvement for you?"

Which is...kind of sad, that this is the better option.

"You text him. He can haul us in one arm each."

"If being here din't mean I wasn't un-cursing my bloodline, I'd agree with you," Wynonna admits. "Hell-plague or not."

She starts fiddling with the watch on her wrist. "Right. Bull's got two L's, right? Right."

And she's the one who grew up on a homestead.
