"That's a whole list right there," she says, laughing because it's so odd here where she can be so much more open about it than she's ever been able to be.

"I work for a place called the Sanctuary. So really anything or anyone that isn't human passing, for the most part, who need a place where they can live and flourish. If they're human passing, we try and help them fit in and handle the differences without drawing the cops or nosy neighbors down on them. So, well, I mean, we have a mermaid who lives with us, and a few others who are just part of the family from different species. And a few that can't handle themselves around others who we try and give space to where they can't hurt anyone."
