"A long time ago, when I was what passes as a young man, doing this was often useful to know and it seems to be coming back to me pretty well. I was a bachelor back then, so I had to take care of it all myself," he says, chuckling. "Before this place it felt like the lifetimes it was before. Here it feels sometimes like yesterday."

Which is odd for him, but not in the worst kind of way.

"Someone you want here from home, I take it? Not like what happened to me?"
