"Uh..." Peter begins, mouth open and faltering, and then lifts a hand to beg a moment. "Just a sec. Hey," he says, turning back to the squirrel. "He says there's a loaded tree that way by the stream, and another a ways out that way that has awesome nuts," he tells her, gesturing. Four miles seems like a long way to go for a squirrel, but what does he knows about stocking a nest for the winter?
