"You have to know I took that shot out of mercy, because there was no other way. She was begging me-" she stops, refusing to cry in front of this man. Even if she did, once upon a time, sort of die in his arms.

"She made her peace. And it- it wasn't like putting down one of you," she says- and the rest of it takes some time to get out. The barrel of the old Colt glowing blue instead of red. Waverly using it to shoot Rosita, with the barrel glowing the same, sky-pure blue.

There's a sad, pathetic desperation to the story she tells, and how she tells it. That she needs to believe Willa isn't damned as badly as he does. That despite the portal she opened, what she nearly did to Waverly- and the things she did do to Waverly, some higher power saw fit to forgive her.
