i'm done being a pawn

WHO: Desmond Miles
WHERE: Fountain; around the village,
WHEN: 12/3
OPEN TO: Anyone!
WARNINGS: Swearing for sure

Fountain arrival; ota

His hand was going in slow motion as it reached for the key to saving humanity and releasing Juno. Despite knowing it was right, despite saying goodbye to the remaining people in his life, he was afraid as he took a deep breath and prepared for the end. His eyes closed ... and then suddenly he was opening his eyes surrounded by water. Desmond flailed, shocked and horrified, this was not the way he expected Juno to take him, and was he supposed to just wait until he drowned? No, this can't be right. His feet kicked and he broke the water into air, gasping and scrambling for the side of ... what the hell was this? His eyes hurt from the water and he dragged himself out, immediately shocked by the cold of the air around him. It hadn't been cold before, why was it cold?

Desmond shakily tried to stand but collapsed hard onto his knees, his hands catching his weight. He should be dead. Maybe he was dead. Or maybe this was something else. He sat back on his haunches, breathing unsteadily, and dropping this strange pack from his back to toss it aside. Who put that on him? Juno's face hazily appeared in his mind's eye, and his confusion turned into rage. Maybe he failed. Maybe this was Minerva, furious that he disobeyed. Frustrated, he did something very stupid and dove right back into the water, going as far as he could. He had to finish this. He couldn't thwart fate. He reached around of any sign of what to do, but it was dark and he sprang out of the water again, colder and more exhausted than before.

"Juno!" He yelled, searching the sky. "Minerva! Which one of you bitches did this?" Desmond spit out water, shaking from cold or shock. "Juno! Goddamnit."

Around the village the next few days, OTA

Desmond was unnerved by everything so far and deeply suspicious. It was an elaborate lie, it had to be. A trick. He went to the inn just because there was no where else to stop freezing and not starve as far as he could tell. He sat by himself in the furthest corner away from others, making certain nothing was at his back but the wall in case of stabbing. Occasionally he ventured up to the records there, reading it but skeptical.

Later on he can be seen in the bunker trying to make sense of what was down there and if his hacking had any use. He was wandering around the village, admittedly being a little creepy as he glanced at the houses and cased the joints. Eventually he claimed House 46 and sat outside, staring off into the distance, scowling.

Race in the end of the lights

WHO: Jacob Frye
WHERE: Fountain, Inn, Bunker, Around
WHEN: 12/3, first part of the month
OPEN TO: Evie, OTA
WARNINGS: Will update if needed

To find the gate is open )

The greenman always comes at yuletide

Who: Alec Holland + You (possibly some locked threads later)
What: The month of December, the Swamp Thing. Nothing gold can stay (or Alec prepares for/lives in winter.)
Where: Throughout the village. Tag in as needed.

Hunter/Gatherer

When he was a boy his father - both of his fathers would complain about stiffness in their joins when it got cold. Aches in their bones. They'd laugh it off and predict cold fronts. He may not be tied into this world's green but he knows the signs. He is not a human he is the Swamp Thing, and he knows better then many that winter is coming.

Just what winter will look like for him here remains to be seen, but he cuts a figure never the less. A slowly darkening plant man going too and fro and bringing piles of plants to the Inn for people to divide amongst themselves. Cooking, medicine, he's got it all. Come and get it.

Back home in the Hollow

Alec lives in a grove nearby the village, and he's storied what few possessions he has, that shirt, those trousers, whatever he manages to collect there. Anyone wandering haplessly close to the village might find a great green creature hunkered over planted in the ground. Seemingly asleep? Seemingly dreaming? No one knows for sure.

To those who do wander, he'll just keep quiet until they wander in before speaking "It's rude not to knock." and opening one eye in a roguish wink.

The Bunker (locked to [personal profile] ataashihunter

Alec occasionally goes and stands in front of the Bunker. Today however it's different. Today he's standing in front of it, ready to go inside and then-

He stops. Stares. And turns away. Then, opens his communicator and videotapes his position.

"Are you free? I think...I think now might be the time."

Find Alec Anywhere

[Meet him coming out of all the things.]

WHO: Bruce Banner
WHERE: A walk to the greenhouse
WHEN: December 3rd
OPEN TO: Natasha Romanoff
WARNINGS: None, will update here if that changes, but it's probably warning for cute tbh

After everything they'd been through, and the fact he landed a first date successfully, Bruce was still full of nerves. He felt better with a plan, and Liv gave him a perfect plan. He'd pay it back in kind with a cure some day, he was determined. He couldn't find any purple to wear but she made it clear he shouldn't try too hard, but he still showed up in newly pressed clothes. No flowers to speak of, since they'd be walking to the greenhouse. He did have a packed picnic though as Liv promised, and he was beaming about that particular detail.

Bruce took her hand because they were doing that more often, scandalous for sure, and led her in the direction of the greenhouse with more confidence than usual. It was helpful when he had an exact vision in mind, and then he could execute it step by step. A little too logical for something as simple and personal as a date, but it was how he didn't end up a fit of nerves and anxieties all day.

"I wish I could take the credit, but someone may have helped significantly." It isn't like Bruce to take credit for anything that isn't his, but he did set up the nice picnic blanket at the greenhouse waiting for them, so he'll take credit for that part. If not the concept. He keeps shooting shy looks Natasha's way, giving his customary half-smile.
