Sam didn't have her brother's gift for reading people, but she figured she'd gotten the point across. And she considered it a point of personal pride that she didn't immediately respond with, 'Oh, it kills at parties.' The pun--worthwhile thought it might be--would have given him a wrong impression. And she really was trying not to be a total monster.

Anyway, in a blink, it was all gone. Her teeth were all tooth-shaped again and that predatory air vanished, dissolved like the mist in her still.
