She barely managed to keep from visibly wincing at the mention of life back home, shadows running across her features before she could straighten and shrug whatever memories that surfaced, away.

"Thanks, then." Smile tight, forced, but she tried to keep it casual.

"Apparently that includes an entire canyon disappearing?!" She'd seen it, yes, but had yet to get any real answers as to what had happened. She still expected it to fall out of the sky at any moment, though she wasn't quite dumb enough to admit that.
