"Usually my experience too," Katniss says. She laughs in spite of herself; it's macabre humor but it's the sort of humor dancing on the edge of a knife she's had to develop over the years. Her life means nothing to the Capitol and she's had to become someone who lives at the fringes of danger more often than not. Someone who seems to look at life the same way is rare and someone she has interest in getting to know.

"What's your name?" Katniss wants to ask what District she's from but she's found, over the last little while, that most people don't have an answer to that question. Most give her blank stares and ask what a District is, unless they're someone she already knows. Maybe asking for names is better.

"I'm Katniss Everdeen."
