She was getting so used to the fact that she didn’t know half the people here - either because she hadn’t met them in her previous stint in this place, or because they’d arrived in that time in between - that Rose hesitated to respond at first, her eyes narrowing on Killian as if not trusting her own ears.
She recognized him, of course. It was hard not to in light of the fact that she’d woken up in his house and her first real memory of arriving here was seeing him come to check on her but it took the space of several long heartbeats before she allowed herself to believe he truly did recognize her.
“Thanks.” Nose wrinkling. “I think? Haven’t decided how I feel about being back.” The hint of a smile playing at the corners of her mouth as any tension she carried drained away.
