"SEALs?" Steve's eyes get big and he can't help but laugh at that idea. "Mary, I doubt you'd let me."
It wasn't that Mary couldn't be a SEAL if she put her mind to it, same with Danny. The thing was, Steve knew that neither of them would ever allow him to push them that way or that far for them to become such. And truthfully, Steve didn't think he could do it to them either. BUDS training hadn't been easy - mentally or physically, and while he'd made it through and helped Freddy to get through it as well, he didn't think he could be the one putting them through all that. Besides, as far as he was concerned, it was okay that they weren't SEALs. He didn't need or want them to be.
More seriously, "I'm not looking to do that. I just want you both to be able to survive and to be comfortable being in the wilderness on your own. You don't need to be SEALs for that."
Then he laughed again and shook his head. "If there are dinosaurs here, I'll even join you!"
