Beverly's expression flattens ever so slightly at the mention of a mercy killing. She's been asked something like that before, the strongest memory being of Worf after his back was broken. She hadn't been comfortable with the idea then and she certainly isn't now.

"Won't be me," she says lightly. "I don't even agree to that sort of thing when it's presented as a cultural practice. Sorry, Claire. We're just going to have to ride this out and hope that either something finally starts helping or it goes away on its own. Have any of your symptoms changed?"
