"It's a little more complicated than that. You'd need something specialized and the medical facilities to do it and not lose the replacement in transition." It would be complicated and then there's the risk of actually cloning people, which is absolutely frowned upon. "Besides, there's cybernetics to help and usually it doesn't need to get that far. Most injuries can be healed with the appropriate regenerator or a biobed. Things that people of the past worry about, we don't... really need to. That's part of why I'm so frustrated here."

She's used to having so much in the way of medical advancements and technology that life here frustrates her. Starfleet Medical and the Academy made sure she knew how to survive if her equipment was ever taken from her and what she learned from Nana supplemented her herbal medical knowledge in school, so she can function as a doctor in a situation like this. She's just never liked it. She can't heal people the way she used to and she hates seeing anyone suffer.
