Mark's done an excellent job of collecting info under the circumstances, but there might be other places keeping tabs on things she's not been privy to yet. This all may be just as new to Kira as it is Karen, but he said it himself: Some version of him was here before, and that might mean people trust him more.

She settles cross-legged onto the ground in front of the barrier, shifting against the grit as she leans in and begins marking down the initials and corresponding colors one by one, cross-checking them against the page Kira had offered. "I think you have to be right, I think they have to be initials," she says, glancing up. "There are too many coincidences even at a glance for it to be anything else.
