"The part with the lab?" Karen asks, and squints forward through the trees as they pick their way through snowy branches. "I've been meaning to go out there anyway." She'd found the cave with the first pod that was discovered, but had no climbing gear that day. More than once she's intended to look for the others but chose exploration closer to home because of the weather.

"I've only got a vague idea of where it's at. Apparently the walls shift."
