Moana might be a bit sheepish about it, maybe even trying not to have to admit it, but Killian hears her anyway. He has nothing to contribute and has just been listening to others' stories. He would have had little problem with stealing something that belonged to someone else, but his objection to this situation is the actions of whoever's behind this. It feels too much like being messed with. Which it is.
