"Yeah well, those people are insane." She gave a smile, her body relaxing a bit as the conversation with her brother was distracting her from the cold. When Steve mentioned winter camping, she glared at him. "Don't even think about it Steve! We're already winter camping so don't get any ideas! I'd like to not get frostbite, thanks."
Mary shrugged as Steve questioned her on her knowledge of fire. "But in order for the fire to keep burning, it needs wood so by putting another log on the fire, I kept it going. You're welcome." She didn't know that all she had to do was let more air get at it to generate more heat but she would keep that in mind for the next time she felt like she was freezing to death. "You do realize that there are more than one way to do things right? And just because someone doesn't do it your way doesn't make it wrong." She knew that she was wasting her breath. Being a control freak was ingrained in his personality and it was unlikely that aspect of him would ever change.
Mary was happy to know that she and her brother had kept in better contact since she had returned to the island. "I'm glad to hear that. I know I'm a giant pain in your ass sometimes but I'm glad that we keep in touch. I would have stayed in O'ahu, you know. I only went back to L.A. because you wanted me to." While she didn't like it, Mary knew that he was right. L.A. was safer for her since he didn't know who was really behind her kidnapping and that was an experience that she never wanted to experience again. "This place feels like one bad high."
