Wanda pressed the bottle to her lips before tilting her chin back. Alcohol burned pleasantly down her throat as the man's call reached her ears. She dropped a critical gaze to Raleigh. She didn't know him. Not anymore. Not in passing and certainly not as a resident of the small village. Wanda only knew that she was far from home and that her brother was somehow missing.
She didn't understand what was going on but after days of searching she felt a pit of hopelessness gather in her chest. The alcohol helped with that.
