"Honestly, I hadn't noticed until I glanced down at the road earlier. I'm used to having more artificial light available than what we have here." She's used to the lights on the starships and being able to turn those on and off at will. Relying on the natural light of the sun isn't new but it is uncommon for a starship officer.

"Or something only I couldn't see," she agrees wryly. "I was trying to determine if it was a trick of the light or something related to where exactly I was, but nothing seems to have changed it."
