As far as Jude knows, the ovens in the houses are all the same: sections of the stove that put food fire-adjacent, rather than over or inside. He hasn't bothered to try out his own, having little to bake on a given day, and pretty sure he's going to burn the house down eventually.

It's a wonder more of them haven't, the old shit they're full of. Maybe there just aren't enough people to tip the statistical scales, or the storms and earthquakes have toppled places faster than they can burn down.
