"Honestly... No." Steve smiles and offers a one-sided shrug. That being said he's not going to push and he's finally clued in that she doesn't want to talk about it. "But it's still an acceptable answer." Not that he isn't curios, because he is, but maybe, should they become friends here, she'll tell him about it later.

As he listens, Steve's face grows solemn with understanding. "No matter how hard we may try or how thorough the precautions we may take, it's far too easy for things to go wrong and when they do it's inevitable that civilians get hurt." He breaths in deeply through his nose and then huffs it out. "I'm sorry."

Looking down at the plate, a small blush creeps on his cheeks and he shakes his head. "No. I'm good thank you. I should get on my way and allow you to carry on with yours." Putting actions to words he stands and nods at her again. "Thank you again. I will repay the favor."
