"Anything, really. I understand that there wasn't much left behind from the previous inhabitants of this village in the way of personal items, but if there's a crucifix, a rosary, or any sort of Bible or prayer book I thought they'd most likely have been relocated here." The front room of the house had obviously been altered in the past, chairs crammed into something approximating rows of pews for a congregation that would never come, and of course there's the handmade cross outside, but there doesn't seem to be much of anything else when it gets down to it. Opening the door into the next room shows a dining room that was clearly the source of some of the chairs in the front room but has otherwise been left alone, with a table that looks like it can fit about six people around it and a neat hutch with dishes on display. Nothing religious, but then he isn't really expecting much.
"It is interesting, though," he continues as he glances around for a few seconds, then steps across the room to the next door - a short hallway that he doesn't enter right away. "This village has almost everything it needs to be self-sufficient, with a hospital, a mill, and an inn, and yet it has no church. I've never heard of a village this age not having its own church, even just a small one."
