She gives him a mirroring look, but he doesn't smile like she might have expected and he's hardly the type to react like Jarvis with the steely-faced 'you're terribly funny, Ms. Carter' she's come to expect, so Peggy can't help her amusement and her mental note to make sure that she teaches Barnes that she's only jesting.

"I can carry it, you know," she points out, holding up both hands. "I still have the both of them for now, even if your mouth has been all over them. Germs don't bother me, and it might be more comfortable for you," she points out. "Tell me more about this pie you're going to bake me, while we walk back."
