As much as some small, fiercely indignant part of her would have liked to
stomp off, Veronica's glad when Cougar slides from the roof and forces her
to look him in the eye. It isn't as if she knows him, not really,
but he's been kind to her from the first moment she came sputtering out of
that stupid fountain. He probably deserves the benefit of the doubt, to at
least be heard out.
