Fenris might not have ever been her bodyguard, specifically, but Hawke has always thought of him as more than a friend or companion. He's part of her group, part of the people she has always been closest to. He may as well be her family by now for all that her only living relative of any worth is Bethany. Maybe Charade, if she doesn't take too much after her father. Either way, Fenris is a part of Hawke's life that she'd missed while she was gone and to have it back now feels...

Right.

"Disaster follows wherever I go," she points out, though it's less self-deprecating than it could be. "I'm a herald of disasters. Astrid Hawke: walking disaster. Sometimes I wonder why anyone follows me at all."
