"They were like this when we all arrived nearly a year ago," Jon said, trying to remember how the village had looked all those moons ago. It had been dusty and abandoned, certainly, and now it seemed a bit more lively. Still, there had been no sign of a previous group of people other than the things they'd left behind. Whoever had built these houses, they were long gone.

"We don't know who built the houses or why they left. When we first came, all the houses looked as yours does right now."
